Warren Medical Group is seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Optician to join our team. The Optician will assist patients with selecting, fitting, and adjusting eyewear based on prescriptions provided by optometrists or ophthalmologists. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent patient care.
Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and accurately fill eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions
- Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses based on lifestyle, prescription, and preferences
- Take precise measurements (pupillary distance, segment height, etc.) to ensure proper fit
- Adjust, repair, and fit eyewear for comfort and optimal vision
- Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and proper eyewear care
- Process orders and communicate with optical labs to ensure timely delivery
- Maintain inventory of frames, lenses, and optical supplies
- Verify insurance coverage and assist with billing and documentation as needed
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and company policies
- Provide exceptional customer service in a professional healthcare environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience and/or certification strongly preferred
- Knowledge of vision insurance plans and billing
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and point-of-sale systems
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour
