Warren General is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our inpatient team in a part-time capacity!
Essential Job Duties:
- Assists in the supervision of the activities of the Occupational Therapy aid, employees and volunteers in the Department. Responsible for maintaining patient care and treatment in accordance with physician’s orders, Hospital policy and Department procedures; supervision of the Occupational Therapist Assistant.
- Confers with referring physicians regarding the treatment of patients with high regard for patient confidentiality.
- Performs all tests and measurements as required.
- Performs muscle re-education, therapeutic modalities, splint application and evaluation as required.
- Prepares initial evaluation of new patients, daily progress notes and monthly progress reports as indicated.
- Instructs patients and families in transfer techniques, exercise programs and activities of daily living.
- Interprets referring physician’s prescriptions and orders, prepares charges for treatments.
- Issues, with proper documentation, therapeutic devices and aids in accordance with physician orders, Hospital policy and Department procedures.
- Transports patients when necessary to and from the department.
- Changes linens in treatment areas, maintains and stores supplies and equipment, fills and cleans whirlpools when needed.
- Maintains Department functions by advising and directing assigned personnel in proper performance of duties.
- Maintains and coordinates the activities of assigned personnel with those of other departments and services along with promotion of good relations.
- Instructs and trains assigned personnel and students in department safety procedures.
- Assists in the planning, preparation and presentation of Occupational Therapy instructions to students, patients and/or families.
Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania OT license
- Work experience or clinical fieldwork within an inpatient environment
- Master of Science in Occupational Therapy
