Job Overview
The Accounting Associate will provide comprehensive support and assist with the creation and maintenance of various accounting and analytical reports. This position will require a strong attention to detail and the ability to work with financial data across multiple locations/entities in a fast-paced environment. You will directly support the Controller in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
The duties outlined below encompass the department; specific duties will be assigned.
- Daily POS (Point of Sale) GL Posting, Reconciling, and Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely recording of daily sales transactions.
- Process Vendor Invoices: Review and process vendor invoices for timely payment.
- Process Credit Card Purchases: Track and process all credit card transactions for accurate accounting.
- Daily Bank Account Reconciliations Across Multiple Accounts: Perform daily reconciliations for all company bank accounts, ensuring that balances align with transaction records and identify and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and internal accounting records
- Process Patient Payments: Record patient payments accurately and reconcile with accounts receivable.
- Sales Tax Reporting: Assist with the preparation of sales tax reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Answer Phones and Communications with Other Locations: Handle phone inquiries and collaborate with multiple locations to ensure smooth operations.
- Monthly GL Reconciliations: Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations to ensure all accounts are accurate.
- Maintain Various Company Spreadsheets/Reports: Update and maintain spreadsheets and reports for financial analysis.
- Cross Training to Support Team: Collaborate with team members and provide cross-training to enhance team flexibility and efficiency.
- Special Projects and Other Duties as Assigned: Assist with ad-hoc projects and other responsibilities as needed by the team.
Skills
- Proven experience in accounting or related field.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working in a multi-location or multi-entity environment is a plus.
