Emergency Service Worker Statement
In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

The Communicable Disease Public Health Educator Will
- Conduct in-service and community-based educational programs on communicable disease topics
- Develop communicable disease educational materials for the public, healthcare providers, community organizations, and local government
- Attend community meetings and health fairs to understand community issues and build relationships with community members
- Teach classes or otherwise disseminates health information to school groups, community groups, families, and individuals in a manner consistent with cultural norms

- Bachelor's degree
- Two years of job-related experience
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

- Bachelor's degree in Health Communications, English, Public Health, or a related field
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external management
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills required
- Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel
- Excellent proof-reading skills and the ability to quickly check documents for accuracy, clarity, and consistency
