Our Client is seeking a dependable Structural Engineer - PE to lead the analysis, design, and stamped documentation for industrial structural systems. This role focuses on crane-supporting structures, mezzanines, and engineered safety systems. The ideal candidate knows steel, understands applicable codes, and takes pride in creating designs that are safe, reliable, and built to last. Candidates must be a licensed PE and able to work on-site in Nappanee IN.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and design crane-supporting structures, including runway beams, columns, connections, and foundations.
- Design mezzanine systems, including gravity and lateral members, connections, and serviceability checks.
- Design engineered fall-protection and safety systems in accordance with ANSI/OSHA requirements.
- Prepare and seal structural calculations and construction documents compliant with IBC and applicable codes.
- Use structural analysis software (RISA-3D or similar) to verify designs.
- Collaborate with project management, sales, fabrication, and installation teams to support successful project delivery.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required and must be maintained.
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering.
- 3-5 years of structural design experience, preferably in industrial or heavy-load applications.
- Working knowledge of relevant codes including AISC, ASCE 7, IBC, CMAA, OSHA, and ANSI.
- Experience designing steel structures, crane systems, and mezzanines preferred.
- Proficiency with structural analysis software (RISA-3D or equivalent).
- Ability to prepare, seal, and interpret engineering documents and calculations.
- Strong attention to detail, safety focus, and professional communication skills.
- On-site in Nappanee, Indiana.
- Minimal travel for jobsite visits as needed.
