What You'll Do
- Operate and assist with the setup and operation of the slitting line
- Work as part of a 3-4 person team to safely and efficiently complete production orders
- Read and interpret work instructions, setup sheets, and production specifications
- Use basic math skills to calculate measurements and verify order requirements
- Measure and inspect materials using tape measures, micrometers, and calipers
- Monitor product quality and ensure all specifications and tolerances are met
- Troubleshoot equipment and production issues as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Complete housekeeping tasks and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Cross-train on Pack Line and Rewinder operations as business needs require
- Work overtime when needed to support production demands
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn company systems
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic arithmetic calculations
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
- One or more years of slitting or cut-to-length (CTL) experience
- Experience working with steel or similar materials
- Forklift experience
- Overhead crane experience
- Experience using micrometers and calipers for quality inspections
- Experience with manufacturing information systems, scanners, or related technology
