Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design of structural projects, including buildings, concrete tanks, retaining walls, and miscellaneous structures.
- Perform structural analysis and design computations to ensure safety and code compliance.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and client communications.
- Represent the firm at public meetings or client presentations.
- Collaborate with multi-discipline teams on complex projects.
- Mentor, train, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Assist with business development and proposal preparation.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Michigan.
- Minimum 5 years of structural design experience.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (IBC, ACI, AISC, ASCE).
- Proficiency with structural design software (e.g., RAM Structural System, ETABS, RISA, AutoCAD, Revit Structure).
- Design experience in timber, concrete, steel, and masonry structural systems.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior engineers.
- Multi-discipline project experience.
- Exposure to business development or client-facing roles.
- Base salary: $125,000 - $130,000
- Year-end performance/profit-sharing bonus: 10-15%
