This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to manage multiple projects while mentoring junior estimators.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate electrical cost estimates from conceptual design through final construction documents
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs
- Analyze project plans and specifications, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, architectural, and civil drawings
- Evaluate labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and subcontractor costs
- Review, validate, and negotiate subcontractor proposals and change orders
- Communicate effectively with vendors, subcontractors, and design team members
- Identify, analyze, and resolve estimating or scope issues
- Participate actively in a collaborative team environment
- Train, mentor, and manage estimators
- Manage multiple estimates and deadlines with strong attention to detail
- Minimum 5 years of electrical construction estimating experience (required)
- Strong understanding of MEP systems, standard practices, and procedures
- Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings and specifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
- Ability to work effectively under deadlines and manage multiple projects
