Key Responsibilities
- Client Relations: Collaborate with engineering disciplines, project managers, and construction management teams to support design efforts and lead the development of engineering estimates throughout project stages.
- Technical Excellence: Prepare detailed cost estimates from conceptual through final design. Perform quantity takeoffs using AutoCAD and apply accurate unit pricing for labor, materials, and equipment. Ensure all estimates align with project scope and standards.
- Value Engineering: Contribute to value engineering and life-cycle cost analyses. Review audit comments, refine estimates, and develop order-of-magnitude cost models for planning purposes.
- Project Process Management: Maintain and update unit cost data for ongoing and future projects. Coordinate estimating activities across multiple engineering disciplines to ensure consistency with project delivery standards and procedures.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- 10-15 years of hands-on estimating experience in design-bid-build and/or design-build/fast-track projects.
- Experience across building, heavy/civil, and infrastructure construction sectors.
- Professional certifications such as ASPE, AACE, or RICS are preferred.
- Prior experience in airport construction (airside and landside) is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of all construction disciplines and project phases.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for quantity takeoffs.
- Familiarity with estimating software, SharePoint, and E-Builder preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments.
- Strong presentation and documentation abilities for estimate and technical reviews.
