Position Summary
The Low Voltage Security Technician will be responsible for the installation, programming, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of commercial security and low-voltage systems. This position requires hands-on field experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism with customers.
Key Responsibilities
Install and service:
Electronic Access Control (EAC) systems
CCTV and IP camera systems
Burglar alarm systems
Computer and network systems
Intercom and paging systems
Pull, terminate, test, and label low-voltage cabling
Install conduit, mounting hardware, panels, and related equipment
Program, calibrate, and verify system functionality
Troubleshoot and repair complex low-voltage and security systems
Test all systems and ensure full operational performance before leaving job sites
Train customers on system operation and answer technical questions professionally
Maintain accurate records of service calls, installations, equipment usage, and parts
Operate and maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment safely
Follow company standards, safety procedures, and industry best practices
Required Qualifications
2 years of hands-on low-voltage/security installation experience
Experience With
Access Control Systems
CCTV/Video Surveillance
Burglar/Intrusion Systems
Structured Cabling and Networking
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documents
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
Valid driver's license with clean driving record (must be insurable)
Preferred Experience & Certifications
