Position Overview
This bond-funded position supports capital construction, modernization, and sustainability projects under the BuildLACCD Bond Program. The role is exclusively focused on bond-eligible activities, including planning, design, construction, commissioning, and project management of capital improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and engineering support to Project Managers and Construction Managers.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, inspectors, and college staff.
- Participate in and lead project meetings as needed.
- Conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, DSA requirements, and LACCD standards.
- Review construction drawings, shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Prepare project reports, meeting minutes, correspondence, and Board Action documents.
- Manage consultant and contractor performance, including invoice review and approval.
- Maintain project documentation and record drawings.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Assist with procurement activities, scope development, and consultant/contractor solicitations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- Four additional years of qualifying experience may substitute for the degree.
- Minimum 7 years of professional construction experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, project controls, contract administration, and change management.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.

- LED Lighting Upgrades
- Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Central Plant Decarbonization and Chiller Projects
- Renewable Energy, Solar PV, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS)
