- Our client is seeking an experienced Plumbing Project Manager / Estimator to join their growing team in Columbus, Ohio. This is an excellent opportunity for a plumbing professional who combines strong field knowledge with project management, estimating, and leadership experience.
- The ideal candidate will have a solid background in both residential and commercial plumbing systems, the ability to accurately estimate projects, and the leadership skills necessary to oversee projects from bid through completion.
- As the Plumbing Project Manager / Estimator, you will play a key role in planning, estimating, coordinating, and managing plumbing projects while ensuring quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, and project profitability.
- You will work closely with customers, suppliers, field supervisors, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Estimating & Project Planning:
- Perform site visits and project walkthroughs
- Prepare accurate labor and material estimates
- Review project specifications, drawings, and blueprints
- Attend pre-bid and post-bid meetings
- Assist in developing project budgets and schedules
- Manage plumbing projects from award through completion
- Coordinate project schedules, manpower, and resources
- Monitor project progress and address challenges proactively
- Ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
- Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams
- Material Procurement & Logistics
- Order materials through company purchasing systems
- Coordinate material deliveries to project sites
- Track material usage and project requirements
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors
- Support and oversee supervisors, foremen, and field personnel
- Ensure work is performed according to plans and specifications
- Promote quality workmanship and jobsite efficiency
- Assist with problem-solving and project coordination
- Safety & Compliance
- Enforce company safety policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with applicable plumbing codes and regulations
- Maintain a safe and professional jobsite environment
Required:
- 5 years of construction plumbing experience
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, fixtures, materials, and gas piping
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and construction drawings
- Experience estimating labor and material costs
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Experience in both residential and commercial plumbing projects
- Project management or estimating experience within the plumbing industry
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel
