The role of a Mold (Tool) Technician is crucial for the success of our Tooling roup, which supports our Production Group by maintaining and servicing injection molds. As a Mold (Tool) Technician, you will utilize a range of hand tools to maintain and repair our plastic injection molds, as well as diagnose water, hydraulic, and air systems. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Preventive/Predictive Maintenance on Injection Molds: Conduct regular maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure molds are operating efficiently. Implement predictive maintenance strategies to anticipate and address potential issues before they escalate. Troubleshooting and Mold Repairs: Diagnose problems with injection molds and perform necessary repairs to restore functionality. Address issues such as part line damage or shut-off problems through welding and other handwork techniques. Repair and Maintenance of Hot Runner Systems: Maintain and repair hot runner systems to ensure they operate effectively during the injection molding process. Diagnosing Water and Cooling Channels: Inspect and diagnose internal water and cooling channels within molds. Ensure proper functioning to regulate mold temperature and prevent overheating during production. Diagnosing Air and Hydraulic Systems: Check and troubleshoot air and hydraulic systems that support mold operation. Ensure these systems function correctly to facilitate mold movement and operation as needed. Wiring Heaters, Core, and Limit Switches: Wire and maintain heaters used within the molds to regulate temperature during the molding process.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot issues related to hot runner components and optimize their performance.
- Install and maintain core and limit switches to control mold operation and ensure safety protocols.
- Developing Skills in Manual Machining and Welding:
- Opportunity to learn and enhance skills in manual machining techniques relevant to mold maintenance and repair.
- Gain proficiency in welding methods necessary for repairing mold components and addressing damage effectively.
- CNC Programming Skills Development:
- Opportunity to learn CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programming, which is essential for advanced mold repair and customization tasks.
- Surface Grinder
- Hand polishing
- Dry Ice Cleaning Equipment
- Mig and Tig welders, Micro welder for those interested in welding
- 4 years' experience working with and maintaining plastic injection molding molds (tools)
- Proficient reading part prints for assembly
- Proficient in diagnosing air and hydraulic systems
- Satisfactory experience reading simple wiring schematics
- Ability to weld is beneficial but not required
