Fleet & Equipment Maintenance
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Mechanic to oversee the maintenance, repair, and reliability of our fleet of trucks, trailers, small engine equipment and large landscape equipment. The Lead Mechanic will play a critical role in ensuring our crews have safe, dependable, and well-maintained equipment every day. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and a proactive approach to preventive maintenance and problem-solving. Applicant must have own tools.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and maintain trucks, trailers, skid steers, and other landscape equipment.
Develop and manage a preventive maintenance schedule to reduce downtime.
Ensure all vehicles and equipment meet DOT, OSHA, and safety compliance standards.
Lead and mentor mechanics, shop assistants, or apprentices as the team grows.
Coordinate with operations managers and crew leaders to prioritize urgent repairs and scheduled service.
Manage shop inventory of parts, tools, and supplies, keeping costs within budget.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
Recommend equipment upgrades, replacements, and vendor partnerships.
Monitor fuel usage, warranties, and vendor service agreements.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all shop practices meet company and regulatory safety standards.
Train employees on safe use of equipment and conduct periodic inspections.

We keeps a clean & organized shop 8000 sq feet inside
Truck and small mower lifts.
Air compressor hook ups
Welding equipment on site
Great equipment tracking and all assets GPS'ed
Qualifications
5 years of experience as a mechanic, or fleet experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and small engines.
Welding and fabrication skills a plus.
Valid Driver's License (CDL Preferred But Not Required).
Ability to troubleshoot independently and manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
