One of our clients is seeking a Mammography Technologist responsible for operating specialized X-ray equipment to produce breast images for early detection while working alongside a trained and certified radiologist.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Operate mammography equipment to create breast images as ordered by physicians
- Position patients appropriately for accurate imaging views
- Instruct patients on procedure requirements and expectations
- Acquire and document patient medical history
- Perform quality assurance and equipment calibrations as required
- Ensure radiation safety for both patients and staff
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients throughout procedures
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists and team members
- Utilize system applications for patient workflow and documentation
- Follow guidelines set by ACR and ARRT governing bodies
- Assist with general duties such as laundry, stocking supplies, and supporting colleagues
- Attend meetings and training sessions as required
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1-3 months of related experience and/or training preferred
- Current ARRT certification required
- Mammography certification required
- Ongoing continuing education in accordance with ARRT, ACR, and State of Michigan requirements
- Ability to read and understand instructions and documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one or small group settings
- Strong problem-solving and reasoning abilities
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Clinical setting with standard safety and operational protocols
- Duties and responsibilities may change based on business needs
- Monday-Friday, 4-5 days per week
- 8-9 hour shifts (start time between 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM)
- Full-time, hourly (32-36 hours per week)
