- Bachelor's degree, or associate's degree in paralegal studies
- 3 years' as Litigation Legal Assistant or Paralegal
- Paralegal certification in North Carolina preferred
- Notary certification in North Carolina or ability to become one
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and case management software
- Strong interpersonal skills including ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with a variety of contacts, including outside attorneys and co-workers
- Strong research, analytical, and investigative skills; ability to document and present findings in a clear and concise manner
- Make sound judgements, and flexibility/adaptability to prioritize, organize, manage, and complete time sensitive matters
- Strong written and oral communication, analytical and organizational skills
- Motivated and capable of working independently and in a collaborative environment
- Must be able to handle confidential, privileged, and/or sensitive information with care and sensitivity
- Ability to make sound decisions and exercise independent judgement and discretion with integrity and accountability
- Clearly and concisely communicate ideas and facts with others
