Fire Alarm Installation Technician

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Fire Alarm Installation Technician with 3-5 years of hands-on fire alarm system installation experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and programming fire alarm systems. NICET Level I, II, or III certification is preferred.

This role requires the ability to lead installation projects, manage job-site activities, troubleshoot system issues, and program fire alarm control panels while ensuring compliance with applicable fire codes and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain required fire alarm licensing and stay current with applicable fire codes and regulations.
• Install, program, test, inspect, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems and control panels.
• Lead installation projects and coordinate work with team members, contractors, and customers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues to ensure proper functionality and code compliance.
• Install, maintain, and repair low-voltage systems, including fire alarms, security systems, and data networks.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment to complete installations and service work.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Perform system testing, inspections, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies and industry standards.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client questions and concerns professionally.
  
  

Preferred Experience

Experience with one or more of the following fire alarm systems is highly preferred:

• Kidde
• EST (Edwards)
• Notifier
• Fire-Lite
• Silent Knight
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• 3-5 years of experience installing and servicing fire alarm systems.
• NICET Level I, II, or III certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, fire codes, and low-voltage installations.
• Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction drawings.
• Experience troubleshooting and programming fire alarm panels.
• Leadership skills with the ability to train, mentor, and delegate tasks effectively.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience using remote access and diagnostic software for troubleshooting is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities with the capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
