Position Summary
Our Client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Field Technician to support on-site building performance testing, energy audits, and green certification inspections for residential and light commercial projects. This role will focus on evaluating building energy efficiency, conducting diagnostic testing, ensuring compliance with energy codes, and working closely with project teams to meet sustainability and performance goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct energy audits for new and existing residential/commercial buildings.
- Perform blower door testing, duct leakage testing, and other building diagnostic evaluations.
- Complete field inspections to verify compliance with energy codes and green building certification requirements.
- Analyze energy efficiency measures and recommend practical performance improvements.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and communicate findings to clients, builders, and design teams.
- Collaborate with construction and design teams to ensure projects meet energy efficiency targets.
- Support quality assurance initiatives and proactively identify building performance issues.
- Travel locally to project sites for inspections, testing, and client coordination.
- Experience performing energy audits, HERS ratings, and building diagnostics using blower doors and duct blasters.
- Strong understanding of building science, energy efficiency principles, and code compliance.
- Proficiency with energy modeling software, data analysis, and reporting tools.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in the field and collaboratively with project teams.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally as needed.
- Professional certifications such as:
- HERS Rater
- LEED AP
- BPI Certification
- NGBS Verifier
- EarthCraft Certification
- Familiarity with certification programs including ENERGY STAR, LEED, and NGBS Green.
