Big Sky has emerged as one of the most successful and rapidly growing resort development markets in the United States. The organization manages multiple private residential communities, mixed-use developments, hospitality assets, and workforce housing initiatives. The team oversees investments, development, and operations in Southwest Montana, with potential future development projects in other regions of the United States and internationally.

Position Summary

The Director of Marketing is responsible for execution and delivery of integrated marketing initiatives across a diverse portfolio of real estate, luxury, hospitality, and lifestyle properties. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution, overseeing project management, content development, digital marketing, and brand storytelling across multiple luxury and hospitality-focused projects.

Major Responsibilities & Essential Job Functions

  • Partner with executive marketing leadership to execute the overall marketing vision and strategic direction for assigned entities and initiatives.
  • Ability to be on-site in Big Sky, Montana.
  • Manage direct reports.
  • Lead, develop, and implement integrated marketing campaigns and collateral across digital, print, and online platforms.
  • Support go-to-market strategies for new and future developments, including positioning, messaging, and creative execution.
  • Lead all assigned marketing project management efforts, including workflows, timelines, and deliverables to ensure projects are completed on time, on brand, and within budget.
  • Bring new ideas to the team and implement them into existing processes.
  • Provide support for additional marketing projects as needed.

Experience/Education Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related creative field.

Experience/Education Preferred

  • 10 years of relevant marketing experience.
  • Director-level leadership experience.
  • Experience managing employees.

Computer Skills

  • Knowledge and basic skillset in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience working with project management platforms such as Wrike and Smartsheet.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with social media platforms, writing, and editing.
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency.

Language Ability

Able to speak clearly and effectively with co-workers, other departments, members, and stakeholders. Able to write clearly, professionally, and with proper grammar.

Math Ability

Able to perform basic math calculations and understand budgets.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve problems independently and recognize when additional support is needed. Must be able to think on your feet and adapt to changing situations.

Work Environment

The job is based in Big Sky, Montana. The work environment is primarily climate-controlled; however, occasional outdoor work in varying weather conditions-including heat, cold, rain, wind, and snow-may be required depending on business needs. Physical Demands

  • Stationary Work: Long periods of sitting, frequently in meetings.
  • Dexterity & Mobility: Regular use of hands for typing, operating office equipment, and walking throughout office or event spaces.
  • Vision & Communication: Extensive screen time requiring visual acuity (near vision), plus clear verbal communication and hearing for meetings and presentations.
  • Lifting & Carrying: Occasional lifting of marketing materials, trade show equipment, or supplies, generally up to 20 lbs., with some situations requiring up to 50 lbs.

Salary : $130,000 - $160,000
