Our client, a well-established and growing metals manufacturing and steel service organization, is seeking a Director of Maintenance & Engineering to lead maintenance operations, engineering initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts across its manufacturing environment. This leadership role will oversee maintenance technicians, equipment reliability, engineering projects, and operational efficiency initiatives to support production, quality, and safety objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage maintenance, engineering, and technical teams across manufacturing operations.
- Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and operational efficiency.
- Direct troubleshooting and resolution of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment issues.
- Drive engineering and continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, reliability, cost reduction, and process optimization.
- Manage capital projects, equipment installations, facility upgrades, and process improvement initiatives from planning through execution.
- Partner with production and operations leadership to support manufacturing goals and improve plant performance.
- Supervise and mentor maintenance technicians, engineers, and technical staff while fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork.
- Develop maintenance strategies, KPIs, and performance metrics to improve reliability and operational effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards.
- Evaluate equipment performance and recommend upgrades, replacements, or process improvements as needed.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, vendor management, and maintenance inventory control.
- Support root cause analysis efforts and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 7 years of progressive maintenance and engineering leadership experience within manufacturing, metals, steel, fabrication, or industrial environments.
- Prior experience leading maintenance technicians and engineering teams in a production setting.
- Strong knowledge of industrial manufacturing equipment, maintenance systems, and reliability programs.
- Experience with capital projects, facility improvements, and equipment installations.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and process optimization methodologies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with CMMS systems and manufacturing technologies preferred.
- Experience within steel, metals, fabrication, or heavy industrial manufacturing environments.
- Background supporting industrial or manufacturing engineering functions.
- Experience improving plant reliability, uptime, and operational efficiency metrics.

Salary : $150,000 - $210,000
