Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end inventory accuracy across a multi-client warehouse environment, targeting 99% accuracy
- Build, refine, and scale cycle count programs (ABC classification, daily counts) as the operation grows
- Maintain accurate storage location counts, ensuring all inventory is properly accounted for within bin and location systems
- Regularly audit storage utilization and location integrity to prevent misplaced or unaccounted inventory
- Enforce and maintain FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory controls across all applicable SKUs and clients
- Monitor product rotation, lot control, and aging inventory to minimize obsolescence and shrinkage
- Partner with operations teams to ensure proper picking, putaway, and replenishment practices align with FIFO requirements
- Lead root cause analysis for discrepancies and implement long-term corrective actions
- Oversee inventory audits, adjustments, and reconciliation processes
- Partner closely with receiving, picking, and shipping teams to ensure consistent and accurate inventory flow
- Plan, manage, and execute inventory-related projects, prioritizing initiatives that improve accuracy, efficiency, and operational scalability
- Coordinate multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, ensuring high-priority items are completed on time and with measurable impact
- Effectively communicate inventory priorities and delegate tasks to team members, ensuring clear accountability and smooth workflow across shifts
- Develop and track KPIs (accuracy, shrinkage, dock-to-stock time, order impact) and drive accountability
- Act as the primary point of contact for inventory-related client issues and escalations
- Identify gaps in current processes and implement improvements to support growth and efficiency
- Support and optimize WMS functionality, ensuring clean data and proper system usage
- Train, mentor, and lead inventory control personnel as the team expands
- 3-7 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain
- Experience in a 3PL, e-commerce, or high-growth distribution environment
- Proven success owning inventory accuracy and improving warehouse processes
- Strong understanding of FIFO, lot control, and inventory rotation best practices
- Hands-on experience with WMS platforms (Manhattan, SAP, NetSuite, Finale, or similar)
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives effectively
- Excellent communication and delegation skills, with the ability to direct teams and align cross-functional efforts
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
- Experience leading teams, projects, or cross-functional initiatives
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause and long-term solutions
- Experience in a scaling or startup-style warehouse operation
- Background in continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar)
- WMS implementation, upgrade, or optimization experience
- Bachelor's degree in related field
