About The Role

A growing general engineering contractor specializing in heavy civil construction is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations and manage multiple public works projects.

Project Focus Areas Include

• Underground utilities (water, sewer, storm, joint trench)
• Structural retaining walls and slope stabilization
• Public works infrastructure
• Grading, paving, and site development
  
  

This role is ideal for a strong field leader who can manage crews, coordinate agencies, and drive project execution efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee 1-3 active projects simultaneously
• Manage field crews including operators, laborers, and subcontractors
• Coordinate inspections with local agencies and utilities such as PG&E and Caltrans
• Monitor scheduling, productivity, and job cost awareness
• Ensure safety compliance and conduct tailgate meetings
• Read and execute plans and specifications
• Maintain quality standards and production targets
  
  

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience as a Superintendent (heavy civil preferred)
• Strong knowledge of underground utilities and public works standards
• Ability to read and interpret civil drawings
• Experience with prevailing wage documentation
• Organized, decisive, and solution-oriented
• Strong leadership and accountability skills
• OSHA 30 certification preferred
  
  

Preferred Experience

• Shoring, soldier pile walls, or drilling operations
• Familiarity with Northern California municipalities (Sonoma, Marin, Napa)
