Role Overview
We are a Northbrook, Illinois-based law firm, seeking an associate attorney experienced in trusts and estates to join our rapidly growing and highly collaborative law firm.
Responsibilities
Pay: $85,000 - $95,000 base salary. The firm has a 1,500-billable hours target for attorneys, pays for originations, and provides additional compensation for excess hours.
Benefits: Discretionary bonus, health, dental and vision paid at 50% for employee, flexible time off, and participation in 401K Profit Sharing Plan after one year of employment, which includes a 3% safe harbor contribution and a discretionary profit sharing contribution.
Other: We also offer flexible hours, work from home options, and paralegal and legal assistant support.
Role Overview

Responsibilities
- Draft comprehensive estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney and related documents
- Manage all phases of trust and estate administration, including probate and non-probate matters
- Prepare and review relevant court filings, accounting and related documentation
- Communicate with clients, fiduciaries, and financial institutions regarding ongoing administration matters
- Maintain organized files and ensure timely progression of matters
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, and work diligently to meet their needs in a timely and professional manner
- Stay up to date on changes in laws and regulations related to estate and trusts, and advise clients accordingly
- J.D. from an ABA-approved law school
- Admitted to practice law in Illinois and in good standing with the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission
- 1 years of relevant experience outlined above
- Experience with estate and gift tax returns is a plus
- Excellent analytical and drafting skills with high attention to detail
