What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney position at Verital Advisory Search?
I’m currently partnering with a highly sophisticated private client law firm that’s looking to add a Trusts & Estates Associate to its Chicago office.
This is a strong opportunity for an associate attorney seeking more sophisticated UHNW work in a collaborative, lower-billable environment. The practice represents ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, family offices, and business owners on complex domestic and international estate planning matters, often involving clients in the $50M-$500M range.
The group offers big law caliber work with a more sustainable structure, around 1600 billable hours, hybrid flexibility, and strong long-term growth potential.
Responsibilities:
- Draft estate planning documents including revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, GRATs, SLATs, ILITs, and related planning structures
- Assist with sophisticated wealth transfer, tax, charitable, and business succession planning matters
- Support trust and estate administration matters, including fiduciary issues and related filings
- Work closely with partners, family offices, accountants, financial advisors, and outside advisors
- Assist with international private client and cross-border planning matters where applicable
- Maintain meaningful client interaction responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Approximately 3 years of trusts & estates experience
- Strong estate planning and drafting background
- Experience working with high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth clients preferred
- Illinois bar admission required
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
