Associate Attorney - Medical Malpractice Defense

We're seeking a dynamic Associate Attorney with a focus on medical malpractice defense to work alongside our experienced trial attorneys in representing hospitals, academic medical centers, and a broad spectrum of healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management: Independently manage a substantial caseload of medical malpractice defense cases from inception to resolution, including drafting pleadings, discovery responses, and conducting legal research.
Discovery and Document Handling: Draft, review, and respond to discovery documents and requests, ensuring thorough attention to detail and compliance with procedural requirements.
Court Appearances: Regularly represent clients in court for hearings, conferences, and motions, demonstrating strong advocacy and strategic skills.
Depositions: Prepare for and take/defend depositions of plaintiffs, experts, and witnesses to support defense strategy.
Client Interaction: Maintain frequent, clear, and professional communication with clients, providing case updates, risk assessments, and strategic guidance.
Motion Practice: Draft, file, and argue motions, including motions to dismiss, for summary judgment, and other dispositive and pre-trial motions.
Collaboration with Senior Attorneys: Work closely with Partners and other senior attorneys on complex legal projects, offering insights, conducting case analyses, and helping refine litigation strategies.
Candidate Qualifications
Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Licensure: Admission to the New York State Bar.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of civil litigation experience, with a strong preference for medical malpractice defense.
Communication Skills: Exceptional written and oral communication skills to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
