Asphalt Screed Operator

Our Client is seeking an experienced Asphalt Screed Operator for a full time, on site role in York, PA. This individual will be responsible for setting up and operating screed equipment to ensure asphalt is laid to the correct depth, grade, and overall project specifications. The right candidate will work closely with the paving crew to deliver quality results while maintaining safety and efficiency on the job site.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and adjust asphalt screed equipment to meet project specifications
• Monitor asphalt depth, grade, and overall paving quality during operation
• Work closely with paving crews to ensure smooth and efficient job completion
• Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance checks
• Identify and report mechanical issues or repair needs
• Follow all safety procedures and job site regulations
• Help maintain project timelines and productivity goals
• Assist with other paving equipment operations as needed, including pavers, rollers, and compactors
  
  

Qualifications

• Experience operating asphalt screed machines in a paving environment
• Knowledge of asphalt paving processes, including depth and grade control
• Familiarity with paving equipment such as pavers, rollers, and compactors
• Ability to inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment as needed
• Strong understanding of job site safety practices and compliance standards
• Good communication skills and ability to work well with a crew
• Ability to work efficiently and meet project deadlines
• Prior paving, construction, or related field experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required
