We are seeking a skilled Asphalt Screed Operator for a full-time, on-site position based in York, PA. The Asphalt Screed Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating screed equipment used in laying asphalt to specifications. Daily tasks include adjusting machine settings, monitoring asphalt depth and grade, collaborating with crew members to ensure high-quality paving, and performing routine equipment inspections and maintenance. Safety and efficiency are key aspects of this role, requiring adherence to company and regulatory standards.
- Proficient in operating screed machines and other paving equipment like pavers, rollers, and compactors
- Strong understanding of asphalt paving processes, including depth and grade control
- Familiarity with equipment maintenance and repair procedures
- Ability to follow safety protocols and ensure compliance on job sites
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with crew members
- Experience in managing work efficiently and adhering to project timelines
- Prior experience in construction, paving, or a related field is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
