Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Loader Operator to join our team in Hinton, VA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy machinery to load live turkeys safely and efficiently. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work in a fast-paced agricultural environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate loaders and other heavy equipment to load and unload live turkeys.
• Ensure the safe handling of live turkeys during loading and unloading processes.
• Inspect equipment before use to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to prevent injury to animals and personnel.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating loaders or similar heavy machinery preferred.
• Ability to work in an agricultural environment with strong adherence to Animal Welfare and Biosecurity Policy.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
• Good physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and any required certifications for operating heavy equipment.

Work Environment

This position involves working outdoors in various weather conditions and requires standing, walking, and operating machinery for extended periods. The candidate must be comfortable working around live animals and in a fast-paced environment.
