Quality Assurance Engineer

What You’ll Do
Quality Systems & Compliance
- Support and improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and customer standards
- Assist with documentation, procedures, and work instructions
- Support APQP activities and PPAP submissions
- Provide quality engineering support across:
- Wire & cable processing
- Harness assembly
- Crimping, molding, and ultrasonic welding
- Monitor incoming, in-process, and final inspections
- Assist with process validation, equipment qualification, and NPI efforts
- Implement process controls and statistical monitoring (SPC)
- Lead and support investigations using:
- 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, CAPA
- Analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities
- Drive scrap reduction, yield improvement, and defect prevention
- Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives
- Investigate customer complaints and lead corrective actions
- Support internal, customer, and third-party audits
- Prepare reports and documentation for customers and leadership
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain
- Train and guide operators on quality standards and best practices
- Participate in daily production and quality reviews
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field preferred
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- 3 years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing
- Experience with production quality systems and process improvements
- Preferred experience in:
- Wire & cable manufacturing
- Harness assembly
- Crimping / ultrasonic welding / molding
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 & ISO 14001
- Experience with PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, CAPA
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; SAP or ERP experience is a plus
- Hands-on role with regular manufacturing floor presence
- Standing/walking for extended periods
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs
- Exposure to production equipment and noise
- Required use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols
