What You’ll Do
Mechanical CAD Design & Modeling:
- Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with design standards.
- Review and analyze specifications, sketches, and engineering concepts to determine design feasibility and requirements.
- Update, modify, and revise designs to correct issues or incorporate improvements.
- Perform mechanical calculations and basic analyses to validate designs and ensure performance.
- Support prototype creation, testing, and verification activities to confirm manufacturability and functionality.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to evaluate materials, tolerances, and mechanical performance.
- Work with manufacturing teams to resolve design issues and support continuous improvement.
- Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and assembly requirements.
- Provide technical support during fabrication, assembly, and installation phases.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, part files, and engineering change records.
- Ensure revision control accuracy and compliance with internal and external documentation standards.
- Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into updated drawings and models.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Or related experience.
- 0 -2 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA or similar).
- Understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of FEA, mechanical simulations, and tolerance analysis.
- Familiarity with industry safety and compliance standards.
- Prolonged periods working at a computer creating and reviewing CAD models.
- Regular presence on the manufacturing floor as needed for design validation.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and use required PPE.
