PCB Fabrication & Assembly Technician

At Volt, our greatest strength is our peopleVolt is immediately hiring for PCB Fabrication & Assembly Technician–in Amityville, NY 11701 As a PCB Fabrication & Assembly Technician Your responsibilities will include:Perform complex wiring and assembly operations in accordance with established production standards and quality requirements.Assemble, solder, and repair printed circuit boards (PCBs) using both PTH (Plated-Through Hole) and SMT (Surface Mount Technology) processes, including performing continuity checks to ensure proper functionality.Experience with basic electromechanical assembly tasks as required.Set up, operate, and maintain all relevant fabrication and assembly equipment to achieve optimal productivity.Provide guidance, training, and support to junior assemblers to enhance skill development and ensure consistent work quality.Essential Functions:Record and maintain data as requiredWork with and assist technical personnel such as Methods Analysts, Engineering, etc. in working out practical problems in relation to their work assignments.Work from drawings, operation sheets, and verbal instruction.Lead forming, adhesive/coating applications, tooling operations and rework and repair.Possess and apply the knowledge and techniques necessary to the manufacture electronic assemblies.Ideal candidate must have: Strong knowledge of IPC-610 and J-STD-001 standards.Comprehensive understanding of soldering processes, including proper techniques, equipment maintenance, and calibration procedures.Minimum of six years of directly related experience in electronics assembly or fabrication.Must have knowledge of MIL-STD 883 as related to wire bonding and component attachMust have extensive knowledge of all assembly skills from ball bonding, wedge bonding, parallel gap welding substrate and component attach, rework and repair.Perform complex wiring and assembly operations to production standards.Complete substrate/component attach, ball bonding, wedge bonding and parallel gap welding of micro-electronic assembles and repair of assembles.Set-up and operate all applicable equipment.Work with extremely small devices under a microscope.This is a 12-month, Full- time- Contract to possible hire opportunity. Preferred skills:Experience with automatic microelectronic assembly equipment, epoxy dispenser, pick and place and automatic ball bonderExperience with soldering of wires and SMT components.Experience with space level assemblyEducation Level Required:High School Diploma or equivalentPay Range: $30.00 - $ 35.00 per hour. *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.Qualified candidates should APPLY NOW for immediate consideration!
