Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in literacy education, math, and early childhood education principles.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies.
- Incorporate learning technology and library services to enhance instructional delivery and student engagement.
- Assess student progress regularly using standardized testing, formative assessments, and informal observations; adjust instruction accordingly.
- Provide tutoring and additional support to students who need extra help, including those with special education needs or working with children with autism.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and specialists to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and support early intervention initiatives.
- Mentor new teachers or teaching assistants, sharing best practices in childhood development and teaching physical education to promote holistic growth.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral incidents; ensure compliance with education administration standards.
- Engage in curriculum development activities to continually improve instructional materials and lesson planning strategies.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with elementary students, particularly in 1st grade or early childhood settings.
- Proven expertise in lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and classroom management techniques.
- Experience working with children with diverse needs, including special education or working with children with autism.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and assessment tools used in primary education.
- Background in curriculum development, early intervention programs, or Montessori methods is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, colleagues, and school administrators.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor peers or new teachers while maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Knowledge of learning technology tools and experience integrating digital resources into daily lessons.
