Position Overview
The Low Voltage Project Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the successful execution of VIP Systems’ low-voltage projects. This position acts as the operational hub between project managers, field technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and clients, ensuring all systems—CCTV, access control, AV, smart home automation, BDA, DAS, and other integrated technologies—are delivered according to schedule, scope, and quality standards.
This is a detail-oriented, fast-paced role ideal for someone who understands low-voltage technologies and excels at organizing people, materials, and information across multiple projects simultaneously.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Coordination
- Work with Project Managers to define project scope, deliverables, schedules, and required resources for all low-voltage systems.
- Create and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, material lists, and manpower allocation.
- Coordinate procurement and logistics for equipment such as CCTV cameras, access control hardware, AV systems, smart locks, cabling, BDA/DAS components, and related materials.
- Track project budgets, change orders, and cost impacts with support from PMs.
Communication & Stakeholder Support
- Serve as a primary point of contact between internal teams, vendors, subcontractors, and clients.
- Provide project updates, respond to inquiries, and escalate issues appropriately.
- Support onsite technicians with documentation, product information, and scheduling needs.
Field Execution Support
- Ensure technicians have correct drawings, installation documentation, and system configurations.
- Review daily field reports and updates to ensure project progress is aligned with schedules.
- Assist in coordinating inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
Quality Assurance
- Help perform or coordinate quality checks to ensure systems (CCTV, access control, AV, automation, BDA/DAS) are installed and functioning properly.
- Confirm installations comply with VIP Systems’ standards, building codes, and manufacturer requirements.
- Maintain accurate as-built documentation and ensure proper project closeout.
Technology & Industry Awareness
- Stay current with new technologies and industry trends related to integrated low-voltage systems.
- Provide input and recommendations to project teams on new products, processes, or integration opportunities.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3–5 years of experience in project coordination or project management within low-voltage, security, AV, telecommunications, or related fields.
- Understanding of technologies such as CCTV, access control, AV, home automation, BDA, DAS, structured cabling, and building network systems.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple active projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with project management tools, spreadsheets, and documentation systems.
