Job Overview
The Low Voltage Project Coordinator supports the planning, organization, and execution of low-voltage installations across large-scale construction projects. This role acts as the operational hub between technicians, project managers, general contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers.
You will ensure that materials are ordered on time, schedules are maintained, documentation is organized, the field team has what they need, and project details flow accurately and efficiently. This is not a field technician role, but knowledge of low-voltage systems is required.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination & Scheduling
- Support project managers in defining scope, timelines, and deliverables for high-rise LV projects.
- Maintain and update construction schedules, delivery timelines, and installation calendars.
- Coordinate technician assignments and daily/weekly work plans.
Material & Vendor Coordination
- Create material lists and coordinate procurement for access control, CCTV, cabling, networking, smart locks, A/V, BDA, and DAS.
- Track shipments, verify deliveries, and manage inventory for assigned projects.
- Work with vendors, manufacturers, and distributors to resolve delays, backorders, and RMAs.
Documentation & Communication
- Serve as communication link between GC/owners, field teams, and internal departments.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation: submittals, drawings, change orders, closeout paperwork, and progress reports.
- Attend coordination meetings (virtual and onsite as needed).
Quality, Support & Issue Resolution
- Monitor project progress and assist in resolving issues affecting schedule or scope.
- Ensure installation aligns with specifications, standards, and VIP’s quality expectations.
- Stay up to date with new technology used in multifamily and commercial LV systems.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2–4 years in low-voltage integration, construction, project coordination, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of LV systems: CCTV, access control, structured cabling, smart locks, networking, Wi-Fi, A/V, BDA, DAS.
- Ability to read and work from construction drawings and submittal packages.
- Highly organized, strong multitasking skills, and comfortable managing many moving parts in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, PDF markup tools, and project management software (Buildertrend/Procore/etc. is a plus).
Preferred but not required:
- Experience working with general contractors, large construction sites, or multifamily new-builds.
- PMP or similar certification.
