Adjunct Nursing Clinical/Laboratory/ Lecture Instructor
The Nursing Department of the College of Health Sciences and Human Performance is seeking candidates for an adjunct clinical/laboratory/lecture instructor position. This instructor reports to the appropriate Department/Program Chair, provides clinical/laboratory/lecture instruction for students in a CNA course or nursing major including preparation of content, assignments, and evaluation of student clinical and academic progress. Interacts with health team members in clinical agencies to facilitate student learning and to promote quality-nursing care for clients.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions.
- Contributes to the education of the nursing program’s students in his/her specific area of expertise according to an agreement between the department and the individual.
- Participate in course/clinical/laboratory planning.
- Counsel and be available to students outside of class via email, phone, etc. regarding academic/clinical performance.
- Inform Department/Program Chair and/or other appropriate persons of student progress.
- Interact professionally with health team members in clinical agencies as appropriate to facilitate student learning and to promote quality nursing care for clients.
- Demonstrates respect for the dignity and personal worth of students.
- Meet Emotional, Cognitive and Physical essential functions of the position.
- Sign job description and mentor checklist for personnel file and submit to the appropriate chair
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required.
- Meets requirements set forth by accrediting agencies (HLC, ACEN, ISBN, ISDH), clinical agencies and Vincennes University. These academic criteria are the same as, or comparable to, that required for appointment as a full-time faculty.
- NURS/NURP lab/clinical - BSN pursing either qualified nurse education certificate, or master’s degree in nursing. MSN Preferred.

- Previous teaching/clinical experience (3 years) desired.
- Requires communication and interpersonal skills for interacting effectively with students, peers, and clinical agencies to provide an environment conducive to students learning.

Compensation:
- Compensation is determined by number of credit/contact hours taught throughout the employment period. Final compensation numbers will be discussed in person.
