Grafton Parks and Recreation is looking for a part-time Program Assistant. The Program Assistant will assist with instruction, monitor and educate participants on rules, and maintain a safe and positive atmosphere for participants.- Assists the Program Instructor with scheduled classes, provides adequate instruction on technique and safety
- Assists the Program Instructor with demonstrating skills and teaches appropriate methods to strengthen skills
- Prepare the area of play with appropriate equipment
- Assists participants, answers questions, and maintains a positive attitude
- Communicate with Program Instructor of facility needs and any issues
- Follow department and facility policies
- Provide first aid when needed- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Current Red Cross CPR and First Aid certification preferred
- Knowledge of program and teaching strategies
- Ability to be professional and motivate class participants
- Ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members and the publicPhysical Skills
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, kneel, reach, and manipulate objects, as well as talk and/or hear. This position requires mobility. Duties require attentiveness to visual and audible cues for recognizing and identifying participants who may require modification of instruction. This position requires the employee to have a high degree of energy and be able to project their voice so that participants can hear instructions.
Additional Information
The program hours can vary. The starting hourly rate is $13.57 per hour.
