Victim Outreach Incorporated (VOI) is a non-profit organization that provides law enforcement-based victim assistance to citizens who have been hurt by crime or other trauma. We contract with the police departments of Arvada, Wheat Ridge, Golden, Edgewater, Lakeside, Mountain View and the Colorado School of Mines and offer services to people who report to police in these communities. Our Mission is to promote the healing of people impacted by crime and trauma with the Vision that they recover to lead healthy, productive and inspired lives.

VOI, in partnership with local and state agencies, is launching the Evergreen Resiliency Center (ERC)—a collaborative, multi-agency initiative designed to provide compassionate, coordinated support to individuals and the broader Evergreen community affected by the Evergreen High School shooting on September 10, 2025. The ERC’s mission is to promote healing, connection, and long-term resiliency by offering accessible services, resources, and guidance to those impacted.

We are seeking to fill the position of a Center Director who will provide the day-to day operational leadership and programmatic direction of the ERC.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

The Center Director works collaboratively with clinical, programmatic and community partners to meet the needs, and aid in the recovery for those impacted by this event. Primary areas of focus include program development, staff coaching and team development, operations, resource management and managing the successful execution of co-located programming and clinical support. This position has four direct reports; two Victim Advocates and one Navigator, and one Administrative Assistant while also providing general oversight to co-located staff within the center. This is a grant-funded position and is funded through the Anti-Terrorism Emergency Assistance Program (AEAP), with direct supervision by the ERC Advisory Board.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

· A combination of formal education, training, and/or experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

· Minimal 1-3 years overseeing site operations for a nonprofit, community center or social service center preferred.

· Minimum of three years’ experience developing and executing projects and programs preferred.

· A minimum of three years’ experience successfully managing staff teams preferred.

· Experience collaborating effectively with people from diverse backgrounds in an inter-sectional environment, including people whose experiences and perspectives differ from their own.

  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher

· Strong verbal and written communication skills, and person-focused service mindset.

· In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire

  • Ability to pass a police background investigation
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Have and maintain reliable transportation
  • Ability to work in an office environment.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Ability to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Capability to utilize a computer and associated peripherals up to eight hours a day(keyboard, telephone, mouse, monitors, etc.)
  • Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machineries, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule with the possibility of early morning, evening, and weekend work.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

· Effective leadership skills in mentoring and inspiring staff, empowering others to lead and apply sound, creative problem-solving techniques.

· Experience developing and executing collaborative projects or programs in a nonprofit or victim services is preferred.

· Experience working collaboratively with community partners, with multiple organizations.

· Ability to work independently, to problem solve, and to identify and meet the needs of a new position and program.

· Experience working with community-based organizations, and law enforcement victim services.

· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of individuals and groups from diverse cultural backgrounds.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

· Established relationships across the Jefferson County region is preferred.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Center Management

· Champion the creation of a new resource within the Evergreen community, working collaboratively with the ERC Advisory Board, staff, programmatic and clinical partners to build the infrastructure, services, outreach efforts, and ultimate success of the center.

· Provide leadership and direction for the successful operation of the Evergreen Resiliency Center (ERC).

· Collaborate with the ERC Advisory Board to collaborate and coordinate clinical and programmatic partners to provide impactful programming, individual services, and support to those impacted by the tragedy.

· Work to create a collaborative, trauma-informed culture with all staff, partners, and volunteers at the center.

· Partner with the ERC Advisory Board to provide oversight to all operational and security needs, including MOU and contract management, security assessments, and licensing regulations.

· Ensure financial obligations of the center are met, through budget management, grant management, and adhering to organizational policies and procedures for financial management.

· Maintain accurate record keeping in accordance with funding regulations and policies, including timely submission of grant reports, program, and records, et Al.

· Adherence to administrative and operational policies and procedures to create a safe, secure, person-focused service for the survivors and community.

· Work with staff team and clinical partners to ensure all data collection, record keeping and reporting meets the quality standards of clinical and programmatic partners, including maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance where needed.

· Foster a culture of community building, process/operational improvements, and continual learning and development through weekly meetings with the ERC team and programmatic / clinical partners.

· Regularly meet with ERC staff, providing constructive, meaningful feedback, offering coaching and support as needed.

Outreach

  • Collaborate with programmatic and community partners to identify and address the needs of clients and community, including clinical and social service providers, and advocacy organizations.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with providers, partner organizations, and community groups serving victims/survivors of mass tragedy.
  • Work with the ERC Advisory Board and stakeholders on community outreach, community engagement, and resource development.
  • Lead ERC staff and partners to center clients' voices, working to ensure that the ERC and its services are relevant, impactful, and responsive to the current needs of those impacted by the Evergreen High School shooting.
  • Develop and implement strategies for community engagement in partnership with the ERC Advisory Board.
  • Ensure victims are aware of their rights under Colorado Law and the Colorado Crime Victim Compensation Act and assist them in applying for appropriate funds.
  • Other duties as designated by ERC Advisory Board.
