Job Description
Position: Lifeguard
Reports To: Pool Manager and Clubhouse Manager
Job Summary:
The lifeguard is responsible for overseeing all swimming activities within the pool. This will include ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all members. The Lifeguard’s areas of responsibility will include the pool, pool grounds, and pump room, attic, locker rooms and guard stations. The lifeguard shall maintain these facilities and services at the highest quality level for the enjoyment of members and their guests.
Job Tasks:
- Guard pool and swimmers in a safe and efficient manner at all times.
- Work in timely rotations to ensure proper coverage.
- Assist in the continuous upkeep of all locker room facilities. This includes emptying trashcans, cleaning toilets, sinks and showers, sweeping/vacuuming floors.
- Check men’s and ladies locker rooms throughout the day.
- Responsible for picking up trash inside the pool area.
- Inspect playground and report findings in log book daily, safety concerns are to be reported immediately to Facilities Manager.
- Retain current lifeguard, first aid and CPR certifications.
- Assist in the registration of all members and guests at the pool, and accurately charge all guest fees and miscellaneous services provided at the pool.
- Assist in the enforcement of all rules for the use of the pool and its facilities as mandated by management and internally developed rules and regulations.
- Responsible for flowers in pool area, dead head, rotating and watering.
- Public relations: Create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for members, their families and their guests. Promote a social atmosphere by encouraging participation in all games and activities, especially on major holidays and other special occasions planned by the Pool Committee.
- Actively participate in training sessions regarding safety and emergency procedures.
- Clean and protect deck chairs surrounding the pool.
- Responsible for lost and found maintenance.
- Track head counts and record in daily log book
- Responsible for pool maintenance, chemical balance, cleanliness, etc.
- Responsible for maintaining proper pool chemical balance log required by Health Department codes.
- Take and record chemical reading in chemical logbook on an hourly basis.
- Assist in setting up of parties when necessary.
- Ensures safe working conditions of all personnel throughout Club operations.
- All other duties assigned.
Salary : $17 - $23
