JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Customer Support / Eligibility Processing Specialist
Pay Rate: $20.69/hr W2
Duration: 2-3 Months
Location: East Hartford, CT
Work Setup: Hybrid
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Job Overview
We are seeking detail-oriented and customer-focused professionals to support eligibility processing and customer assistance programs. This role involves working directly with families to help them access financial benefits (such as SNAP), while handling data entry, documentation, and customer interactions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Support & Communication
- Serve as the initial point of contact for consumer inquiries via phone and written communication
- Provide accurate information and guidance regarding benefit programs
- Handle customer concerns professionally and deliver effective resolutions
Data Entry & Processing
- Screen consumers and input data into third-party systems
- Process and submit denial letters accurately following procedural guidelines
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all interactions
Operations & Compliance
- Meet daily productivity and quality standards (QAP) with high accuracy
- Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks per contract guidelines
- Maintain strong knowledge of systems, procedures, and workflows
- Adhere to attendance policies and workplace guidelines
Team Support
- Assist customer service team with incoming calls as needed
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth operations
- Support additional administrative and operational tasks
Required Qualifications
Candidates must meet at least TWO of the following:
- Associate's degree or higher
- 6 months of call center or customer-facing experience
- Experience in eligibility processing or similar operations
Required Skills
- Typing speed of 40 WPM or higher
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable navigating multiple systems and applications
- Strong customer service mindset with conflict resolution skills
