What You'll Do:
ERP Development & Technical Support
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and enhance Infor LX customizations using RPGLE, SQLRPGLE, CLLE, and other IBM i development tools.
- Modernize legacy code and develop new functionality using free-form RPG, ILE concepts, modules, and service programs.
- Support and maintain custom integrations, APIs, reports, interfaces, and extensions built around Infor LX.
- Utilize tools such as RDi, ACS, Turnover/Aldon/ARCAD, and SEU/PDM (for legacy maintenance).
- Troubleshoot system issues, job failures, performance problems, and data integrity concerns.
- Provide day-to-day support for Infor LX modules across Order-to-Cash (OTC), Procure-to-Pay (PTP), Manufacturing/MRP, Inventory/WMS, and Finance/Costing.
- Analyze business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and configure LX as needed.
- Collaborate with business users to diagnose functional issues, evaluate impacts, and recommend solutions.
- Support system upgrades, fix packs, environment refreshes, and ERP patching cycles.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, views, indexes, and stored procedures on Db2 for i.
- Utilize SQL to support analytics, reporting, and data validation needs across the enterprise.
- Create data extracts for business intelligence tools and external systems using ODBC/JDBC.
- Build and maintain integrations between LX and external applications (WMS, CRM, EDI, eCommerce, PIM, MES).
- Work with integration tools/protocols such as REST/SOAP, IWS, MQ, ODBC/JDBC, JSON/XML, and EDI translators (Sterling, Cleo, OpenText).
- Support EDI transaction mapping, error resolution, and trading partner onboarding.
- Support IBM i operations including job scheduling, spool/output management, and batch processes.
- Follow IT controls, change management processes, and audit requirements (SOX or equivalent).
- Assist with system performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning as needed.
- Participate in on-call rotation or after-hours support for critical ERP processes.
- Document technical designs, functional requirements, test scripts, and operational procedures.
- Work cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and IT Infrastructure teams.
- Assist in user training, UAT coordination, and go-live readiness for enhancements or new modules.
Technical Skills
- 5 years of experience supporting Infor LX or BPCS in manufacturing or distribution environments.
- Strong development expertise in:
- RPGLE / Free-Form RPG
- SQLRPGLE
- CLLE
- IBM i ILE architecture
- Strong knowledge of Db2 for i , SQL optimization, and database modeling.
- Experience with IBM i tools such as RDi, ACS, PDM/SEU, SDA, etc.
- Experience with ERP environment management, object promotion, and deployment tools (Turnover, Aldon, ARCAD, etc.).
- Familiarity with UI and web modernization tools: WebSmart, Profound UI, LANSA, Valence, or similar.
- Solid understanding of business processes in at least two Infor LX domains:
- Order Management & Shipping
- Procurement & AP
- Manufacturing, MRP, and Shop Floor
- Inventory Management & Warehousing
- Standard Costing & Financial Integration
- Experience supporting end users, troubleshooting issues, and interpreting functional impacts of changes.
- Experience supporting EDI (850/855/856/810/etc.) and trading partner integrations.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, SOAP services, JSON/XML processing, file transfers (SFTP/FTP), and MQ.
- Ability to read, debug, and modify interface programs.
- Experience with Infor IDF/PowerLink or Net-Link portal.
- Experience working in regulated or audited environments (SOX, FDA/GxP, ISO).
- Knowledge of modern scripting languages on IBM i (Python, Node.js, PHP, or Java is a plus).
- Familiarity with modern DevOps concepts including Git, CI/CD, or automated testing frameworks for IBM i.
- Experience participating in ERP modernization or transformation initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem?solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented, with strong documentation and follow-through.
