Vernovis is looking for a Controller to lead our client’s general ledger (GL) and product accounting divisions, overseeing all aspects of financial reporting, month-end close, and percentage-of-completion accounting. This role partners closely with the CFO and executive leadership to provide timely, accurate insights across multiple geographic locations. Successful candidates will bring a blend of technical accounting strength, leadership experience, and business acumen, with the ability to navigate the complexities of a decentralized, multi-entity structure and frequent acquisition activity.
What You'll Do:
Lead the GL and project accounting teams in executing accurate and timely month-end closings, reconciliations, and journal entries.
Oversee percentage-of-completion accounting and manage monthly Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules for multiple regions.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies.
Manage and execute multiple merger and acquisition projects annually, coordinating with corporate and regional teams to ensure smooth financial integration.
Lead due diligence, purchase accounting, and post-close alignment of financial systems and processes.
Create and present financial reports to the CFO and executive leadership team, offering analysis and recommendations on performance trends across locations and divisions.
Partner with operations leaders to interpret results, improve margins, and drive accountability.
Hire, build, and mentor high-performing accounting teams within the GL, project accounting, and M&A functions.
Foster a collaborative, business-minded culture that bridges accounting and operations.
What You'll Have:
8 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership of multi-entity or project-based teams.
Preferred background in private equity or a related project-driven industry.
Proven success managing M&A transactions and financial integrations.
Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally with operations, IT, and leadership teams.
Excellent communication, analytical, and team development skills
