Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) oversees and coordinates the clinical, organizational, and operational functions of the Medical Department. This role may supervise and collaborate with staff across all Medical Center departments and reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer. The RN supports high‑quality patient care, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, and contributes to the development and success of the clinical care team.
Essential Functions

- Oversee quality assurance for all nursing activities, patient care, referrals, and clinical communication.
- Audit referral tracking, telephone encounters, and voicemail documentation.
- Coordinate schedules for LPNs, MAs, and Lab CNAs across all CAHN Medical Centers.
- Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training new medical staff.
- Provide evidence‑based nursing training and support to clinical team members.
- Serve as a role model and supervisor for medical assistants, LPNs, and lab technicians.
- Assist in developing and updating clinical protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Support staff education and compliance with approved policies and clinical standards.
- Foster strong internal and external working relationships to support departmental goals.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as payroll preparation, attendance monitoring, and compliance tracking.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including OSHA, HIPAA, and safety protocols.
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Utilization Review activities.
- Collaborate with executive and leadership teams as needed.
- Act as a liaison between service providers to support coordinated care.
- Manage clinical schedules across multiple locations to ensure adequate nursing coverage.
- Coordinate volunteers, nursing students, and externships within the medical department.
- Contribute to the development of agency policies, job descriptions, and clinical protocols.
- Serve as a member of the supervisor/management team and attend required meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Schedule
- Monday-Tuesday 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. - Occasional extended hours
- On-site position

Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Current RN license and CPR/BLS certification required.
- Minimum of three years of nursing experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Computer literacy required.
