Tax Accountant
Location: Greater Milwaukee Area
Compensation: $70,000–90,000

About the Role
This Tax Associate will play a key role in supporting a variety of tax engagements, with a focus on individual tax work. You’ll partner directly with senior team members and leadership, gaining strong exposure to client-facing responsibilities while contributing to overall team development and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual tax returns, with exposure to other entity types as needed
- Support tax planning and compliance efforts across a diverse client base
- Assist with research on tax regulations and application to client situations
- Collaborate with senior staff and leadership on client deliverables and deadlines
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with applicable standards
- Assist with general accounting or financial reporting support as needed
- Contribute to process improvements and support special projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Relevant accounting experience, ideally within public accounting or tax-focused environments
- Exposure to individual tax returns and related compliance work
- Experience with tax software and proficiency in Excel
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with individual clients and high-net-worth returns is a plus
- Exposure to partnerships or corporate returns is beneficial but not required
- CPA eligibility or progress toward certification is a plus
- Process improvement mindset with the ability to identify efficiencies
