Senior Tax Accountant

Our client, a large and well-established distribution company, is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join its corporate accounting and tax team. This is a highly visible role that supports both the operating business and the ownership, providing exposure to a broad range of tax matters and regular interaction with senior leaders and stakeholders.

This position is ideal for a tax professional who enjoys variety, wants to expand their technical expertise across multiple entity structures, and is looking for a role with direct access to decision-makers.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and coordinate federal and state tax filings for various entities, including S-Corporations, partnerships, trusts, and individuals.
• Assist with the preparation and review of annual tax returns, extensions, and quarterly estimated tax payments.
• Support tax compliance activities for both the company and family office entities.
• Analyze fixed asset activity and ensure accurate tax depreciation and reporting.
• Research tax issues, evaluate impacts, and provide recommendations on compliance and planning matters.
• Partner with shareholders, advisors, and internal stakeholders to gather information and maintain accurate tax records.
• Review individual tax information and assist with shareholder tax-related matters.
• Collaborate with external tax advisors and auditors as needed.
• Participate in tax planning initiatives and special projects that support business and ownership objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• CPA or Master's in Taxation preferred.
• 3 years of tax experience within public accounting or a corporate tax environment.
• Experience working with a combination of corporate, partnership, trust, and individual taxation.
• Strong understanding of federal and state tax compliance requirements.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to work with large data sets.
• Experience with GoSystem Tax RS is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
