A Leading Automotive Supplier in the Eaton Rapids, Michigan area needs a Quality Manager. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
With a full line reporting to the General Manager and dotted line to Director of Quality the successful candidate will monitor and manage the Company’s QMS, coach and support the plant teams in the attainment and maintenance of superior quality; and excel the customer satisfaction through delivery of 100% of products free of defects.
Be a role model to the entire plant, leading by example and developing the teams to reach all defined targets. Be able to perform all tasks related to quality as a mean to train and coach the quality team to develop their skills and knowledge. Supervise Quality activities, establish schedules, and maintain departmental training and conduct annual performance reviews.
Customer Quality - Represent the customer to ensure quality objectives are met all the time. Monitor customers’ scorecards and develop improvement plans to reach customer satisfaction. Accountable for the development and maintenance of strong customer relations. Review and approve all customers’ CAR/8D/5Y prior to submission and closure. Ensure customers complaints’ deadlines are met. Ensure compliance to internal and external audits and certificates such as IATF 16949, Stellantis SIM, Ford Q1, GM GQTS, etc.
Quality Systems - Monitor, maintain and improve the QMS in conjunction with Corporate and plant teams. Ensure the execution of all required audits (system, manufacturing, product, LPA, supplier) on their specific frequencies, utilizing allocated resources from quality department, Corporate office, and other areas.
Production Quality - Shop floor oriented with strong interaction with production teams, enforcing all quality standards and supporting plant to reach the production targets without jeopardizing quality. Develop, evaluate & improve process capability together with the Production and Engineering departments and actively attend CI activities. Establish process improvements to reduce scrap and rework.
New Launches - Allocate resources to complete all quality related APQP activities (PFMEA, Control plan, GR&R, PPAP, etc.) on time according to the planning and customer requirements.
Problem Solving - Lead, mentor, coach and guide the timely and effective resolution of the CAR/8D problem solving process. Coordinate workload and prioritize to ensure project deadlines are met.
Training - Active team member for quality training and development of employees’ skills.
Budget / KPI Objectives - Accountable for development, maintenance & execution of strategic short-and long-term quality budget/business plans. Responsible for weekly and monthly quality KPI reporting.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Previous Quality Management Experience in an Automotive Manufacturing Plant is Required
Demonstrated leadership ability within a team environment.
Ability to meet deadlines and stay within departmental budget.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to cope with multiple priorities, set direction and achieve goals.
Must be initiative and self-disciplined.
Sound knowledge of IATF 16949.
Extensive experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of the Company Policies & Procedures.
Salary : $115,000 - $130,000
