Job Summary:
The Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth, achieving revenue targets, and managing the sales team. This role includes planning sales strategies, monitoring market trends, and ensuring effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop annual sales and profit plans by analyzing market trends and results
- Set sales targets and forecasts for regions and products
- Create and implement a business plan covering sales, revenue, and expenses
- Monitor market conditions, customer demand, and competitor activities
- Adjust pricing based on cost, demand, and competition
- Achieve assigned sales targets and goals. Set individual targets for sales team members
- Track sales performance and prepare reports. Manage and monitor the performance of the sales team
- Coordinate with the marketing team for lead generation
- Provide ongoing training and development for the sales team
- Motivate and guide team members through coaching and product training
- Understand customer needs and align them with product offerings
Authorization: Prepare sales proforma invoices and quotations
- Handle customer queries as per company standards
- Provide product-related documents as required
- Develop and manage agents or representatives in assigned regions
Work Coordination: Internal: Sales Coordinator, Sales Engineer, Production, Service Team
External: Customers, Sales Team
Qualifications: Education: Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or Master’s Degree
- Field of Study: BBA, MBA, Polytechnic, International Trade, Chemical/Plastic Machinery
Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant sales experience
- Team management and leadership abilities
SCREEN: Experience in setting sales targets, forecasting, and managing regional or territory sales performance? Relevant industry experience (e.g., machinery, chemicals, plastics) and strong skills in customer handling and team coordination?
PREFERRED:
- Industry: Candidate should have direct plastics / injection-molding industry experience (machine OEMs, molders, or industrial plastics suppliers) and proven success selling into manufacturing customers. - Market: Candidate should be familiar with U.S. regional manufacturing markets (NE, South, SW, & West). Prepared for frequent travel (~60 % ).
- B2B account growth in industrial/manufacturing markets (prospecting, pipeline development) Sales performance tracking and reporting (KPI monitoring, sales reporting, revenue/expense planning) Soft Skills: 1. Sales team leadership and coaching (setting individual targets, motivating and developing reps) 2. Field/territory management and travel adaptability.
- Preferred (practical requirement): 1) Look for 1–3 years of direct people-management or team-lead experience in sales. Seek experience managing small regional teams or external agents across territories (typical team size to flag: 2–8 direct reports, or responsibility for multiple external reps/agents across regions
