Our client is a highly successful property management organization with a rapidly expanding, dedicated maintenance subsidiary. Their maintenance division is currently generating $700K in revenue and is experiencing significant growth. They are a forward-thinking, leadership-driven company aiming to scale their maintenance department to match the revenue and operational footprint of their established property management side.
Director of Maintenance Operations:
We are seeking a growth-minded Director of Maintenance Operations to lead our client's maintenance subsidiary. This is an on-site, executive leadership role based in East Vancouver. You will take ownership of a 10-person maintenance division, guiding the team through a period of rapid expansion. The ideal candidate comes from a strong contracting and housing maintenance background and is eager to build and scale a department.
Because the current Director is transitioning to a new career and has provided ample notice, the hired candidate will have the unique opportunity to start in September and receive direct mentorship and overlap training to ensure a smooth handoff.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, mentor, and direct a multifaceted maintenance team of 10 staff members (including 4 dedicated full-time technicians and cross-functional support staff).
- Oversee all daily maintenance operations, taking ownership of residential rental turnovers and ongoing property upkeep.
- Act as a core member of the leadership team, working to build out the maintenance department and strategically scale revenue.
- Coordinate and oversee remote maintenance projects and requests as required.
- Partner with the property management leadership to align maintenance capabilities with the organization's overall growth trajectory.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven background in contracting, building, and residential/housing maintenance.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing a team, with a strong "growth-minded" approach to departmental building.
- Must reside in or near Clark County, WA, for a reasonable daily commute.
- This is a strictly on-site position; candidates must be willing and eager to work in the East Vancouver office and on location as needed.
