Senior State & Local Tax Consultant
Remote - Work from Home
We're looking for an experienced Senior State & Local Tax Consultant to join our growing tax advisory team. In this role, you'll lead sales and use tax projects, deliver high?quality client guidance, and tackle complex state and local tax issues with confidence. You'll manage engagements from start to finish, analyze tax positions, and communicate clear, actionable recommendations to a diverse client base.
What You'll Do
- Lead sales and use tax compliance, planning, and consulting engagements
- Research state and local tax laws and prepare technical analyses and reports
- Collaborate with cross?functional teams to develop integrated tax solutions
- Support business development through proposals and thought leadership
- Mentor junior staff and promote best practices across the team
What You Bring
- Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field; advanced degree a plus
- 3-5 years of sales and use tax or related consulting experience
- Strong technical research skills and knowledge of state and local tax laws
- Excellent communication, analytical, and project?management abilities
Compensation & Benefits

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:
- the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;
- other business and organizational needs.
With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
