Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Property Accountant Consultant to join our team and support a growing real estate portfolio. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with deep experience in property management accounting, CAM reconciliations, and Yardi.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned properties.
- Complete full cycle accounting, including journal entries, accruals, and general ledger maintenance.
- Perform detailed variance analysis and provide commentary to asset management and leadership teams.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure accuracy of all financial data.
- Lead annual CAM (Common Area Maintenance) and operating expense reconciliations for commercial properties.
- Review leases to ensure accurate interpretation of expense recovery clauses.
- Prepare tenant CAM statements and support property managers with tenant inquiries.
- Collaborate with property management teams to forecast and budget CAM expenses.
- Partner with property managers, asset managers, and leadership to support operational and financial goals.
- Respond to auditor requests and assist with year-end audit processes.
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5 years of property accounting experience, preferably in commercial real estate.
- Strong Yardi experience required
- Proven expertise in CAM reconciliations and lease interpretation.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and real estate accounting principles.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:
- the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;
- other business and organizational needs.
With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
