Senior Accountant - Manufacturing


Position Overview
Our client, a growing manufacturing organization, is seeking a Senior Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close activities. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting cost and inventory accounting, and ensuring timely, audit-ready financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Accounting Manager and cross-functional teams to support operational accounting needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including preparation and posting of journal entries
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate variances to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Support cost and inventory accounting, including inventory valuation, standard costing, variance analysis, and reconciliations
• Maintain and reconcile inventory, WIP, and cost of goods sold accounts
• Assist with manufacturing variance analysis and provide supporting detail to management
• Prepare and review financial schedules to support internal reporting and external audits
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies and controls
• Partner with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis as needed
• Support system and process improvements related to ERP, reporting, and close efficiency
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, month-end close, and reconciliations
• Hands-on experience with cost accounting and inventory processes
• ERP experience required (NetSuite, Great Plains, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
